Street trading is a commercial part of tradition; trays are passed from one generation to another. Youths converge to learn, share and teach themselves at Four-Road. It's street sense made easy! FAQ - SCRC

  1. What's SCRC?

    It is Summer Children READING Camp. It's a 7-day full lodging and feeding Camp for ages 8-15 years in a secured boarding school environment under watchful eyes of caregivers.

  2. Is this the first edition?

    2020 SCRC is the 3rd edition. It started 2018 under the Chairmanship of HRM Oba Dr. Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo CFR (Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland) and Nobel Laureate Prof Wole Soyinka was our Special Guest of Honour at the maiden edition.

  3. Briefly, what's it about?

    The Summer Children Reading Camp is a concept of Sixth Sense Series Publications created by Abiodun Oladimeji Lasile. It is to promote reading culture in Nigerian children to rekindle and revamp reading which is a great personal development tool for national development. It's an opportunity and a grooming ground for your children, wards and tomorrow's leaders to grow together with a lifelong experience.

  4. How do I secure a ticket?

    Get a TICKET early enough to avoid needless patching up or rushing to gain an entrance into the camp. Send WhatsApp message to +234 802 719 1291. It's every First Week of August, an annual event. Also, visit our website regularly.

  5. What's the cost?

    It's only N22,500 per child and you automatically become our Distinguished Camper. It caters for lodging, feeding, souvenirs, Camp materials and Certificate. Please note, No addition cost or expenses for the SEVEN DAYS.

  6. What other conditions are attached?

    It is ages 8-15 years that are legible. It's only Parent/Guardian that can register a child with their details for the Camp. Visiting is not allowed at the Camp. Parents and Guardians are allowed into the Camp FOUR times; Resumption day (Sunday), Camp official opening day (Monday), Camp Party day (Thursday) and Closing Ceremony (Saturday)

  7. What are they to bring along to the camp?

    Their personal effects for hygiene, sports, sleeping, and Medication, must be submitted to us on resumption at the registration desk to supervise and administer.

  8. Any forbidden items in the Camp?

    No food, no snacks, no drinks No Charms, No Metals

  9. What's in it to the Campers?

    Knowledge and lifelong experience from seasoned professionals, achievers, authors, teachers and Social worker. To build confidence in them towards leadership. Free SCRC Handbook, our official publication on the Camp and its activities. Official Vest, Camp Bag, Stationery, Pictures, Books, Gifts and Write-ups. Social interaction with other children and knowledge sharing.

  10. What are your safety measures?

    We engage professionals to provide hygienic and balance meals with fruits and snacks to the Campers and volunteers. Medical is three levels; Matrons on camp with First Aid attention with basic needs and medicines, A visiting consulting Clinic comes to camp with their team and FMC Abeokuta is our our emergency hospital. Security is paramount to us, hence, we've three levels of operations. The 24hrs armed So-Safe Corps, NPF Patrol of the venue and DSS notification of the camping. We provide electricity to the camp for operation, comfort and the lighting of all the environments under a fenced compound.

  1. What is CRCP?

    It is Children READING Competition Programme. It's A-day event, gathering of over 100 schools together under one roof for Reading competition. We host about 1,500 pupils and students from both public and private schools from Ogun State and neighbouring States. The reading Competition is for ages 5-15 years.

  2. Is this the first edition?

    2020 CRCP is the 4th edition. It was flagged off by HE Senator Ibikunle Amosun FCA CON (Governor of Ogun) on the 25th October, 2017 at the Main Auditorium of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Abeokuta under the Chairmanship of HRM Oba Dr. Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo CFR (Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland) and HE Dr Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR was our Special Guest of Honour at the maiden edition.

  3. Briefly, what's it about?

    The Children Reading Competition is concept by Sixth Sense Series Publications created by Abiodun Oladimeji Lasile. It is to promote reading culture in Nigerian children to rekindle and revamp reading which is a great tool for personal development towards national development. It's an opportunity and a grooming ground for your children, wards and tomorrow's leaders to grow together with a lifelong experience.

  4. How do I get my child(ren) to partake?

    Only schools can partake in the competition, a successful registration of a school will avail pupils and students to get representation to attend. Get your school registered through the Proprietor, Principal, HeadMaster and School Administrator by sending 'REGISTER ME' a WhatsApp message to +234 802 719 1291 OR on this website. It's every 25th October, an annual event. Also, visit our website regularly.

  5. What's the cost?

    It is FREE to all registered schools on the website for the competition. Absolutely, free to participate. CRCP will cater for its Secretariat, feed participants and volunteers, hydration, souvenirs and issue Certificates. Please note, No addition cost or expenses for the schools or their representatives at the venue.

  6. What other conditions are attached?

    CRCP is for ages 5-15years. It is only schools that can register within the stipulated time will attend or participate in the reading competition.

  7. What are they to bring along to the competition?

    Nothing. We will supply books at the venue.

  8. Any forbidden items at the Competition?

    No fighting, no noise, no roaming around the auditorium. No Charms, No Metals

  9. What's in it to the school and student?

    Knowledge and lifelong experience from seasoned professionals, achievers, authors, teachers and Social worker. To build confidence in them towards leadership by knowing tips, methods, tacts, and style of reading. Buy the CRCP Handbook at a token, our official publication on the CRCP and its activities (optional). All pupils/students the event will take Certificate of Attendance; All schools get Certificate of Participation; everybody will take lunch; Carbonated Drink; Water; Books; Gifts; and refreshments. Social interaction with other children and knowledge sharing.
